October 8, 2007:
This morning we packed up early and headed off - the campground was a little strange, hard to explain really but the atmosphere was different.
As we drove through the town of Sharon, we couldn't resist one last photo for the Honeymoon Canada production. The Sharon Temple is a national historic site and it was on our way as we drove through the town, plus it was surrounded by fall colours!
So now it's on to the end. We stopped in Newmarket for a few things we needed for the days ahead then drove straight to the Carriage Ridge Resort. After checking in we discovered that the kitchen was more a kitchenette so we wouldn't have full cooking facilities. We had some food to use up and with no real kitchen available I had to cook out in the camper again - one last time! People were very curious as they walked passed - the camper draws attention anyway and now it was being used for its kitchen ... strange! It was even worse when we sat around the dining table to eat the meal with the door open.
An extra table was ordered with the reception and once it was delivered to the room we set up our office. We had our large computer screens with us and between those, the computers, multiple external hard drives, bookkeeping papers (yes even we have to do that yukky stuff), note pads, and everything in between, the housekeeping staff were also very curious.
The only challenge we had to figure out was to avoid eating out every night for the next two weeks! As it turned out, besides living on microwavable TV dinners or toast, it was virtually impossible - especially once the camper had been winterised (no using the water or anything after that).
