We leave the Bohemian region of the Czech Republic and cross the border into Austria. Lucky for us we are in the district of Weinviertel or the Wine Region of Austria. We are confronted by rolling countryside with rows of vines ready to burst into life with fresh leaves and fruit.
An interesting sight is to see the lack of fences on properties, just country roads fringed by trees leading straight into green or freshly ploughed pastures, and vineyards.
Our destination is on the southern side of the main city centre of Vienna, a beautiful village called Hinterbruhl. Tonight we dined at a local Buschenschank called Felsenheuriger in Hauptstasse, a family owned operation on 7.5 hectares of land, which produces a variety of wines. In the evenings their restaurant serves up fresh country bread, cheese spreads, tasty meats, and some of the finest wine ever!!
We tried a little bit of everything, then walked back to our accommodation. And so ends another great day.
